The combo lock is perhaps one of the most distinguishing features of the Basecamp Pad, bringing dependable theft resistance and peace of mind. However, customers sometimes run into issues when setting their unique 3-digit combo.

Be sure to always set one number at a time and then test - and then move on to the next digit and repeat. This ensures you only need to solve one number if you accidentally compress the spring while setting the combo.

If the mechanism moves while you are setting the combo, it can set to a different number sequence than the one you intended. Those who end up in this predicament can find themselves stuck with a lock they can't open (or close). If this happens to you, don't fret. There are ways to bypass the code and set a new three-digit combination. Essentially you will need to pick the lock; you can find tutorials on YouTube for how to crack a 3-digit combination lock.

You will need to apply gentle pressure to the carabiner, and while maintaining pressure, starting begin to slowly rotate through the numbers until you feel an irregularity. Once you come across the correct number, the mechanism will compress ever-so-slightly more. Begin this process with the bottom digit (the top digit the way the pad is oriented in this photo). Once that one is correct, move to the middle row, and then the farthest one. With any luck, you will be able to open the lock and proceed to reset it to your desired combination.

If all else fails and you have some time on your hands, you can eventually get the combination by sequentially trying every possible combination between 000 and 999. If you are stuck or want to seek help, reach out to us at support@trustcache.com or call 855-621-0280
